Wheezy's grub uses submenu and there's no way to disable it. It will cause our setup routine fail to spot the boot entry we want! Somebody already filed a bug (#690538) long time ago but Wheezy itself it's not going to fix that. How annoying! The way I see to move forward is to remove this overlay file, import latest 20_linux_xen, patch it and reference #690538 and the bug number for adding in xenpolicy file. And I will stick this patch at the beginning of my series. Of course I can always leave this overlay file along and try to patch it. Ian, which approach do you prefer?
