Is this the expected consequence of failing ts-build-check? Or did I not
quite get things right?

This is currently expected, "[PATCH 2/2] tools: Use SeaBIOS's defconfig"
from the "tools: update to SeaBIOS 1.7.4" series should resolve this.
(lets consider this a ping to that series ;-))
