I think something like "Provides: xxx" can help with this, at least on
Fedora:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_create_an_RPM_package#Other_tags

As soon as rpmball builds for me (see the other e-mail I just sent),
I'll be happy to help experimenting with it.
