What problem are you trying to solve here? Can you point to specific
problems with the existing setup?

The reason QEMU changed/are changing how they do things (as stated in
the link) is to avoid churn in SeaBIOS relating to qemu changes, we
don't have the problem since we don't generate our ACPI tables in
SeaBIOS anyway.
