I also think Dongxiao's fix "nested vmx: Fix the booting of L2 PAE" can fix some issue as you tested. But in my testing, with or without that fix, I met the same issue. I can't even use 'XP mode' in Win7 guest. 'XP Moe' showed hardware VT is disabled; while MS's another tool to check VT showed hardware VT is supported. I was confused and can't even start XP mode in Win7 HVM guest.
