Question is - do we need to do anything here at all? With IanC apparently already having found the reason for the regression, can't we just get that committed to -unstable, and once pushed there put it here (and on 4.1-testing) too? I would be more concerned about the tree's state when close to a release, but we still have about two weeks until we ought to cut -rc1 there.
