You write `From: Dario' in the headers but it has a S-o-b from Ian.

I think you should write
  From: Ian Campbell <ian.campbell@xxxxxxxxxx>
if he actually wrote it.

git-commit --author will do this for you and I think git-send-email
will then generate appropriate output.

Can you point me at your git tree so I can easily clone it and see
what the output from this new IDL generator looks like ?
