You don't appear to have setup any bridges on your host.

Thanks for that. It looks like it has sorted out the issue.

I am surprised that I did NOT have to setup my networking in this manner when I first installed openindiana. I just configured the vm with vif = bridge=eth0, and it worked.

I had a feeling it was something silly...
