You can tell what the kernel version that it was compiled against by doing: strings module.ko | grep vermagic= If you have a extraversion of "-xen0" in your kernel you should see it in the vermagic. Alternatively, in your current case you can probably tell by doing: objdump -d module.ko | grep cli If you have cli instructions, its not a Xen module (or the source is horibly broken).
