http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1334

Summary: qcow-create fails to create usable image from backing
                    device.
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Tools
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: d_mccurdy@xxxxxxxxxxxx

using file:// attaches and creates /dev/hdc but device can have mkfs made on
it but it is not the base image from the qcow-create.

seems the qcow-* not working very well

seems a lot of code updates on qcow-* so someone must be working on it or
trying to get it going.
