[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1091] New: Grub error message with Xen 3.1 - no boot

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1091

Summary: Grub error message with Xen 3.1 - no boot
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: x86
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Hypervisor
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: lassahn@xxxxxxxxx

Situation: Fresh install of Debian with Xen 3.1 and 2.6.18 kernel (specifically
2.6.18-5-xen-686) When trying to boot the hypervisor, grub spits out this error
message:

Booting 'Xen 3.1-1-i386 / Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.19-5-xen-686'

root (hd0,11)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83

module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-5-xen-686 root=/dev /sda12 ro console=tty0
[Multiboot-module | <0x1f4000, 0x253998 bytes]
module /boot/initrd.img-2.6.18-5-xen-686

Error 28: Selected item cannot fit into memory

This is a machine with a Core 2 Duo and 3 GB of memory, I have seen similar
behavior on Ubuntu 7.10 with Xen 3.1 and a 2.6.22 kernel. Maybe there is an
error in the hypervisor?
