[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1020] New: Linux /dev/mem broken on non-Xen platforms

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1020

Summary: Linux /dev/mem broken on non-Xen platforms
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: PPC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Guest-OS
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: hollisb@xxxxxxxxxx

The Xen patch overrides mem_fops in drivers/char/mem.c . The PowerPC kernel
build includes both drivers/char/mem.c and drivers/char/xen/mem.c, but only the
Xen one is actually wired up, which means booting a PPC Xen kernel on native
hardware will break /dev/mem .
