[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1002] New: ipw3945 driver does not register as a PCI device

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1002

Summary: ipw3945 driver does not register as a PCI device
           Product: Xen
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux-2.6
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Unspecified
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: yying2@xxxxxxxx

When the ipw3945 module is loaded into the dom0 Fedora 7 2.6.20-2925.11.fc7xen
kernel, it fails to register as a PCI device, thus causing the ipw3945 daemon
to fail. The driver works fine on a non-Xen Linux kernel. It seems to me that
the non-Xen kernel has a PCI address bound at (as a symlink like object)
/sys/bus/pci/drivers/ipw3945. However, the Xen Linux dom0 kernel does not
contain this symlink. As a result, ipw3945d cannot access the cmd file within
that directory, causing ipw3945d to bail.

Reproducible: highly
