[Xen-bugs] [Bug 989] New: Dom0 won't boot with vmlinux.strip ("XSI != alloc_down()")

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=989

           Summary: Dom0 won't boot with vmlinux.strip ("XSI !=
                    alloc_down()")
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: PPC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Hypervisor
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: hollisb@xxxxxxxxxx

Hardware: JS21 with 6GB RAM
Images: built-in vmlinux.strip and built-in initrd
Symptom: "XSI != alloc_down()" early in dom0 boot.

The immediate problem is that 'alloc_bottom' in prom_init.c has a bad value
(with a leading 0x4 at the top). Not sure how that's happening, since it is
calculated from '_end'.

Workaround: boot a zImage.
