I don't think revertiong the changeset will help your situation, since what
happened previously is that /usr/lib[64]/python was added appended to your
sys.path, so your FC5 xen python modules were used instead of your xen-unstable
installation anyway. All that changeset has done is highlight the fact that
xend had always been sourcing the FC5 python modules.

Adding a try: except: block here will only help hide the symptom but not solve
the cause. I recommend you remove the FC5 python xen python modules is you are
going to be following the unstable tree.
