Nope, it's not bound by MAC

contents of /etc/network/interfaces is as follows:

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
        address 10.43.234.101
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 10.43.234.1

That's it.

I've been using Xen 2.0.6 and Xen 2.0.7 quite happily on these machines, it's
definately something with Xen 3.0.0
