http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=396 Summary: suse/xen kernel boots but is extremely slow Product: Xen Version: 2.0 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Unspecified AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ReportedBy: jsweatte@xxxxxxxxx I have done a network install of SuSE 10 to a HP ze1110 laptop(500 mb ram, 1 ghz AMD Duron) . SuSE 10 boots fine and thus far runs with no problems. I have not experienced any issues with the non-Xen kernel to date. I should mention I have never done anything with Xen, this is my first attempt. The Suse/Xen kernel was created, as I mentioned, during the network install. I patched the system immediately after installation using yast. When I boot the Suse/Xen kernel it takes a very, very long time but it does successfully boot. Once the system is up it is so slow as to be unuseable. I tried to start top but just packed it in after , I don't know, at least 10 minutes. The system is I guess technically ok but it's super slow. I tried to go to yast as I see a Xen tool in the non-Xen system yast but the system is so slow it just never responds. No crash or message or anything visible, just hangs. As I have no experience with Xen I am not sure what to do now. This is what shows as being installed xen-tools-3.0_6715-2 xen-doc-html-3.0_6715-2 xen-doc-pdf-3.0_6715-2 xen-3.0_6715-2 kernel-xen-2.6.13-15 xen-doc-ps-3.0_6715-2 The suse non Xen kernel is 2.6.13-15-default. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. _______________________________________________ Xen-bugs mailing list Xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xensource.com/xen-bugs
