[Xen-bugs] [Bug 370] New: Race condition in x86-64 domU block frontend

http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=370

Summary: Race condition in x86-64 domU block frontend
           Product: Xen
           Version: unstable
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: Guest-OS
        AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
        ReportedBy: aliguori@xxxxxxxxxx

Problem:

Creating a domain on an SMP x86-64 system will often result in the assigned
block device never being created for the domU.

So far I've concluded that when this occurs:

1) Xend has created all proper nodes
2) Backend has done everything it's supposed to do (sectors, sector-size, etc.
nodes are all present)
3) Frontend has created event-channel and ring-ref nodes
4) watch_for_status isn't getting invoked to register the device
5) probe is being invoked and is not falling through one of the error paths
