This should be possible:

Mon Aug  1 12:54:41 CEST 2005
web1:/# date -s "08/03/2005 00:27:00"
Wed Aug  3 00:27:00 CEST 2005
web1:/# date
Mon Aug  1 12:54:49 CEST 2005
web1:/# 

the host's time is on the right. So where does the domU go wrong?
