Re: [XenARM] Questions about Secure Xen on Arm

Hi,

Current Secure Xen on ARM or XenARM sorce code has got differences in part.

By the end of second half 2009, this current version will be updated and aligned with a latest Xen version.

However, I have aligned XenARM interfaces with the Xen mainline, and added new 8 interfaces to support ARM hardware architecture

and the associated access control, as shown in the presentation at Xen Summit North America, Boston.

Regarding security and access control features, you can find them in my first presentation made in Xen Summit 2007 April

at IBM TJ Watson, that is available both in Xen Summit home page or in XenARM page.

Around next month in Japan, at the Xen Summit, I hope to release para-virtualized Linux for Secure Xen on ARM.

I hope this answers your questions.

Title : [XenARM] Questions about Secure Xen on Arm

Hello all,

I am starting to work on the Embedded Xen Project. First, I am studying the code of the Samsung port "Secure Xen on arm" relased on this page.

I have some questions about this work:

- I have found on the ChangeLog file that the base version used for this work is the changeset 9617 from the xen-3.0-testing.hg tree. When I compare this tree and the "Secure Xen on Arm" release, I find a lot of differences in the non arch dependant part of the tree. Therefore my question is the following: Does the release of samsung is based on the 9617 changeset or updates have been made from the Xen tree ?

- Have you some indications about wich parts of the "Secure Xen on arm" are new features for safety only and which are Xen base features needed for paravirtualization on ARM.

- Have your a more recent release of "Secure Xen on arm" or is one planned soon ?

Thank you in advance for any information.

Patrick
