Re: [Xen-API] Login credential in XCP Pool

 Hi Alexandre ,

Thanks a lot for the Info . But I tried changing the password of the slave node through its CLI once it has been added to the pool . Now the Master and the slave nodes are having different credentials .

Thanks ,

Shafi,

No general way.

In a Xen pool Configuration should all the hosts have the same credentials ?
Before a new host has joined a pool, it's root password may be whatever you wish. When it joins the pool, it's root password is overwritten and becomes the same as the pool master's root password. Normally, while configuring a pool, there is no need to do anything special about root's password.
If you wish to change root password of the hosts already in pool, it's recommended to do that via XenCenter GUI, this way the password will be synced across all the pool members.

Is it possible to get the credentials of all the slave nodes from the
master ?
By design, there is no direct way to extract plain login credentials (user and password) from a Linux system, doing it locally or remotely. This also apply to XCP and XenServer. If you meant something else in you question, please re-formulate.

Greetings.
