Yes, it looks like your CPUs are indeed identical, but on the XS 6.2 host, one of the CPUID features was masked and therefore disabled. I believe that XS 6.2 is a little stricter when it comes to CPUID feature checking before a VM migration is allowed, which may explain why you are seeing this only now.

You should be able to remove the masks on the XS 6.2 host using the âxe host-reset-cpu-featuresâ command.

Iâm not sure how that came about but you should be able to undo this using the host-set-cpu-features CLI command for the XS 6.2 host. Rob â can you offer any further guidance?

We are trying to upgrade a whole XCP pool to XenServer 6.2.

All XCP are running over the same HW and, the most important fact, exactly de same CPU.

We have successfully upgraded the master of the pool (following the instructions posted in this thread) and now we have an âhybridâ pool (1 XCP + 1 XS6.2), but when we try to migrate all the VMs in the XCP to XS6.2, XenCenter shows the following error:

â- The VM is incompatible with the CPU features of this host.â

Now we are unable to migrate the VMs with âLive migrationâ feature (zero downtime) to XS6.2 and we cannot upgrade the XCP host to XS6.2 .

We have tried to stop a VM and then start on XS6.2 and it works fine, but we want to do the migration in âliveâ mode because is a production server and we cannot stop all the VMs running in it.

Have we missed something? Is there a way to upgrade a XCP pool to XS6.2 with âlive migrationâ?

By the way, when we restart all hosts in a testing pool, we can see that the XCP host is upgrading automatically (?Â?):
