[Xen-API] Exporting ovf from xencenter

HI all

this is my first post in this list so I hope i do it right.

My problem

I want to export a linux vm in ovf format to store locally on my PC or elsewere. Using Xencenter (6.1)  _DO_NOT_WORK _

I am getting a "failed to export" message with no other explanations

Is there :

1) a fix for this 

2) another (simple) way to do this trivial operation

I am using XCP 1.6.10 on a DELL T110 (64bit)

Googling I have seen that other have the same issue but couldn't find a solution
