Any hint is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The output is:
----------------------------------------
An unrecoverable error has occured. The error was:

The new partition table could not be written:
sfdisk: ERROR: sector 0 does not have an msdos signature
/dev/sda: unrecognized partition table type

sfdisk: 1: no such partition

Reversion also failed:
sfdisk: ERROR: sector 0 does not have an msdos signature
/dev/sda: unrecognized partition table type

Seems like XCP (sfdisk) does not like hard drives without MBR. Try to boot to any Linux system and run fdisk /dev/sda, say 'w' (write) and 'q' (quit).

Sector0 contains two pieces of information: MBR (initial bootloader) and patition table. You need (seem like this) to have correct MBR before installing XCP.
