  • List-id: Discussion of API issues surrounding Xen <xen-api.lists.xensource.com>

I'm collaborating in a european project called Federica (http://www.fp7-federica.eu/). One of the branch of this project is to permit virtualization of different hosts in the Federica test-bed. We are doing some studies about the different management interfaces of Xen. Our objective is to create a software remote client for Xen tool (in java if it's possible). I've done a document (published on http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dffc5nq6_2dgpj4scx) with the management interfaces of XEN and, if you want you can take a look and give me some feedback. Anyway, the objective of this mail is to ask you something about the Xen-API: how is it possible to create a VM with associated specific VIFs? I have read the enterprise manual and the community and I've found that the field VIFs associated to a VM is ROrun. This means that it's not possible to associate the VIFs I want to a VM? How does it work the creation of a VM? Which VIFs associate the system to the VM created? I'm sorry but I've not found any information about this. Thanks a lot,
best regards,
