What QEMU do you have specified in your xl.cfg? If you are not overriding then 
I assume it will be upstream, in which case you need a line of the following 
form in your xl.cfg:

device_model_args=[ "-trace", "events=<path>/events" ]

and a file called 'events' under <path> with the following content:

xen_platform_log

You should then get PV driver logging in a file called:

/var/log/xen/qemu-dm-<guest name>.log

That's the file I need to see.
