Is there a way to detect that windows has BSoD'd and invoke the
'on_crash' behaviour instead of the 'on_reboot' behaviour?

It appears that a BSoD involves writing out the crash dump file (if
possible) and then doing a reboot. If a second crash happens during the
crash dump then the DomU may truly crash and will do whatever 'on_crash'
says to do, but otherwise as far as Xen is concerned, it's a reboot (eg
"Issued domain 65 reboot")

I want to have 'preserve' behaviour for 'on_crash', but not for
'on_reboot'...

I know I can tell Windows not to reboot after a crash dump, which mostly
solves the problem, but it would be nice to control it from the xen
config.

Thanks

James
